Test Platform

We downloaded, installed, and tested ICopy DVDs 2 to run on two test computers. One computer was "Home-Brewed" with an Athlon AMD 64 X2 4800 Dual-Core processor running at 2.4GHz, 1GB of memory, 100GB hard drive, and a Sony DRU-510A DVD/RW drive 32X (CD) and 12X (DVD). The other computer, a Gateway E06500D, with an Intel Pentium (R) running at 3GHz, 1GB of memory, 100GB hard drive, and a Plextor PX-708A DVD/RW drive (40X (CD) and 12X (DVD).

Test Results

The installation was accomplished without a hitch on both test computers. The original DVD movie was "The Mummy Returns" (2001) starring Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz. The movie runtime was 130 minutes. Upon inserting the original DVD movie and pressing the "Start" button, 15 minutes lapsed until we were prompted to insert blank DVD media. The DVD movie burning process was less than 10 minutes. We then inserted the copied DVD movie in our DVD player and the copy quality was that of the original to include all of the extras and menus options we selected. The same process was perform on our second test computer and it took 16 minutes to copy the movie and  approximately 9 minutes to burn the movie to DVD.

Upon launching ICopy DVDs 2, we were presented with a small and simple Graphical User Interface that gave us the option to copy a Dual Layer DVD or an Entire disc. We elected to copy the entire DVD.

ICopy DVDs2 User Interface

Clicking on the Settings button expanded another section that allowed for selecting between two video formats, Audio Languages, and Subtitles. We kept the default settings.

Additional Settings and Options

We inserted our DVD and clicked the Start button.

DVD Copy and Transcoding Process

After about 24 Minutes ICopy DVDs 2 beeped three times to alert us to insert a blank DVD. (The program did not automatically eject the DVD).

Alert to Insert Blank DVD

Clicking the start button initiated the DVD burning process.

Burning to DVD Progress Window

After 12 minutes, ICopy DVDs 2 beeped three times and ejected the copied DVD.

Process Complete!

The copied DVD movie looked and sounded great in our DVD player. The quality was that of the original.

ICopy DVDs 2 from start to finish produced a high-quality DVD in 36 minutes. Pretty good for a movie with a runtime of 130 minutes. Not as fast as 1Click DVD Copy Pro, but well under an hour.

Pros

ICopy DVDs 2 user graphical interface was simple and easy to use. The software is true 1Click technology.

Cons

Not really. We could say "add more features", but some users prefer a much simpler DVD copy application without all the bells and whistles.

Quality of Copy

The final copy (Audio and Video) was an exact copy of the original.

Customer/Technical Support

We Emailed Me TOO Software and within a few hours, a response was received. Their website has free live technical support and email customer support as well as a comprehensive knowledgebase..

Summary

ICopy DVDs 2 is worth every penny and produces an exact replica of a DVD movie. 1Click DVD Copy Pro tested faster and had more features, including cprx technology. Yet, ICopy DVDs 2 was a solid performer.

The new ICopy DVDs 2 offers advanced features such as one click and copy, copy dvds to a single DVD, Single & Dual Layer DVD Burning support, and high speed 16x burning speeds which allows you to copy DVD about 35 minutes or less with perfect quality.
